A pro-active approach to infant & paediatric health and wellness leads to improved oral-systemic health outcomes throughout life.

The goal of the paediatric dental health & wellness checks is to start parents and their children off on the right foot, optimizing paediatric oral-systemic health, and guiding craniofacial growth and development through the formative years. It provides expert-led guidance to support your child’s growth and development in ways that are sustainable, safe & effective, and developmentally appropriate. Fees & Coverage:

All services offered by Katrina Basso RDH follow the current Ontario Dental Hygienist Association Fee Guide.

Almost all insurance companies cover the cost of dental hygiene services provided by independent dental hygienists in Ontario. Some preventative health services may not be covered, despite their necessity in the care plan, and may be an investment to the family. Checking the fees covered by your insurance company and the individual plan you have prior to your appointment will help you determine what will be covered at your booked appointment. All treatment is client-specific.  Fees are charged for the time spent on treatment and services rendered.

If you have any questions about fees & coverage, please contact info@katrinabasso.ca

This service is offered through Independent Mobile Dental Hygiene Services and in office through St. Jacobs Dental Care.

Traditional dentistry recommends children be seen within 6 months of the arrival of the first tooth.  As a preventative specialist, I encourage all children to be seen in the first few weeks of life. The infant’s gestation & birth plays a critical role in shaping their nervous system, which in turn affects their ability to breathe, latch, feed, sleep & optimally develop. These early experiences are pivotal for establishing healthy lifelong functions related to these patterns, which are foundational to lifelong oral-systemic health outcomes.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” - Proverbs 22:6

“It is easier to build strong children, then to repair broken men” - Fredrick Douglas (1817-1895)
